Wheelchair Vans for Ride Connect Texas

VanAbility Chrysler Pacifica - Wheelchair Van Conversion with Manual Ramp

Reliable, Affordable, Commercial-Grade

When Ride Connect Texas approached us, they outlined three key objectives for their new wheelchair vans: reliability, affordability, and commercial-grade durability to meet the demands of their daily operations. We recommended our Chrysler Pacifica Conversion, a trusted solution that balances functionality and cost-effectiveness.

What made these conversions unique were the commercial-grade seats we installed, designed to withstand the rigorous use associated with public transportation services. For their vans, we included our most popularly requested seats, which are known for their sturdiness and are already trusted by large city-wide public transportation systems.

Our Commercial-Grade seats featuring handlebars by the head

For these vans, we introduced an additional feature that wasn’t originally requested—a handlebar near the head of the seats (see picture below). This feature, while not a standard request from our clients, was available in our inventory, so we decided to install it to gauge Ride Connect Texas’s feedback. We also assured them that if they preferred the standard seating configuration, we could easily make the switch.

The results were unexpected yet rewarding. Ride Connect Texas not only loved the handlebar feature but immediately recognized its potential value for their passengers, many of whom are elderly or require mobility assistance. The handlebars provided an additional point of contact, enhancing safety and making it easier for passengers to steady themselves. They were so impressed with this feature that they requested that all their vans come with the same seats.

We’re thrilled to have been able to meet and exceed their expectations. We’ve already ordered another set of these seats and are eagerly awaiting their arrival so we can complete the installation on their final vehicle. It’s always rewarding to collaborate with organizations like Ride Connect Texas that are making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

Ride Connect Texas is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing essential transportation services for individuals in need. Their mission includes helping people get to medical appointments, grocery stores, banks, pharmacies, places of worship, as well as to family gatherings and social events—making a significant impact on the community by fostering independence and mobility. We were honored to have been selected to build these wheelchair-accessible vans for them and to be of service to their mission and community.
