How a Fully Loaded Chrysler Pacifica S-Series Saved a Family Time, Money, and Stress

Creating the “Ultimate” Wheelchair-Accessible Vehicle

The super-sleek Chrysler Pacifica S-Series featured in this post is one of the most fully loaded wheelchair-accessible vehicles we’ve ever had the pleasure of converting here at VanAbility.

And when I say fully loaded, I mean a full panoramic sunroof, 20-inch Foreshadow aluminum wheels with a black finish, black leather-trimmed seats with light diesel gray stitching, anodized ice cave accents, black Chrysler wing badges, and so much more.

But here’s the thing—if our client hadn’t reached out to Mobility Lift Aids, this build might have never happened. Instead, they would have settled for a vehicle with far fewer features and, honestly, less aesthetic appeal.

The original plan was to go through another dealership to pick a vehicle that was already converted—nothing wrong with that. But two key factors made them choose Mobility Lift Aids over competitors:

  1. Mobility Lift Aids is a family-owned, local business proudly serving the Houston area.

  2. The opportunity to customize their vehicle through our manufacturing division, VanAbility.

The vehicle they initially planned to purchase would have cost nearly $58,000 after trade-in—a hefty price for a pre-converted vehicle. By coming to us, we were able to help them find the exact vehicle they wanted: the fully loaded Chrysler Pacifica S-Series you see in these photos. After securing the perfect vehicle, we completed a custom wheelchair conversion tailored to their specific needs, which included installing an EZ Lock wheelchair restraint system in the center of the ramp.

But the story gets even better. After learning about the client’s circumstances, we referred them to the Be An Angel Foundation, an amazing organization that helps children with disabilities live fuller, more accessible lives. They applied for assistance, and with the foundation’s support, they received full sponsorship for the vehicle conversion.

In the end, not only did the client drive away with a fully spec’d out Chrysler Pacifica, but they also saved nearly $20,000 compared to going through a different dealership.

On the day we delivered the vehicle, the client shared something that truly stuck with us:

“We love our children. We love them. Vehicles like this give parents like me small moments of time back. It’s because we love our kids that we go through these challenges… and this just gives us back a little extra time to feel like regular human beings.”

We’re honored to have played a part in this build and want to extend a huge thank-you to the Be An Angel Foundation for making this possible. It’s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do at VanAbility and Mobility Lift Aids.
